I am having the same problem. Since updating, I cannot get my earthlink email (but I get my yahoo email sometimes).
Two days ago I did not get a voicemail until 24 hours later.
And yesterday the phone froze up. For a couple of hours, it was unusable as it froze but unlike your situation, it would not respond to a boot. It would change after about 10 minutes, for no clear reason.

After a couple of hours (where I verified that my AE card would double the 1 year warranty), it worked again. Today it is working. I guess I will have to go into Apple and see if they have more stories of this and what they recommend. I wish I had never updated.

Your post on “where’s all the Rails support?” caught my eye just now. Not sure if this is the right direction here but, regarding supporting Rails applications, we’ve been doing it for a bit at FiveRuns.

I was able to get my apps working again by deleting them all through iTunes (applications tab -> sync applications -> uncheck all the apps installed on your phone) then I re-downloaded them through app store on my iPhone. Trying to re-sync the apps through iTunes did not work for me.

I’m having the extact same issue with the apps from the Apps store closing and returning to the home screen. I’ve resynced several times. Would love suggestions.

I had the same problem (every app returns to the home screen shortly after trying to start up) and was able to fix it by re-syncing my apps through iTunes.
